This post is a little out of order considering our stay in Cusco began on April 13, and then we left for Machu Picchu and returned on April 15 to stay for a few more days. Although it is quite touristy in parts, we really enjoyed it as a whole. It has a European flair and the bits of town away from the main plaza feel really warm and homey. The first night there we celebrated Andy´s birthday with a nice dinner at Alfredo´s friend Victor´s restaurant, followed by shisha and pisco sours. After our return from Aguas Calientes, we managed to eat really cheaply (my favorite was the pictured Bolivian SalteƱa for less than $1 each) and spent a lot of time taking photos and speaking with locals. However, I did have to pay 30 cents to have that photo taken with the girl and the llama!
Nothings free, that girl is quite entreprenurial.
