The hostel we booked is in San Telmo. This is a cool part of the city that was overlooked for a while until rents went up elsewhere in the city and the artists flocked to this barrio. There are so many cool murals on the walls, graffiti patches and other artsy statues and things to see here! Plus this is a hot spot for antique shopping, so you will have to forgive my overindulgence in photos on this post. Other observations of Buenos Aires so far: very unique fauna, children wear lab coats as a uniform, cafe culture is booming here (the locals claim the only other city to rival their cafes is Paris), there seems to be a high demand for American 80´s rock paraphernalia and the night begins late. We headed over to Palermo for dinner at around 10:45pm for Mexican food since our stay began on Cinco de Mayo so the first five photos on this post are from this part of the city (the rest are from San Telmo).

Lots of wonderful pictures, muy bonito!
